It might be small, but Korcula is full of natural beauty. The small town is rumored to be the birthplace of Marco Polo and is home to medieval stone fortresses, red-roofed buildings, and winding streets. It is also right on the sea so that you can enjoy gorgeous views of the water during your stay. While there’s never a wrong time to go to Korcula, you will get the most out of your trip if you go in July so you can take in the city’s spectacular sword dance event. Known as Moreska, this event will be the highlight of your entire vacation. There are hotels within walking distance of Korcula, including the Hotel Korsal. It’s a 10-minute walk from Old Town, and it has a restaurant and offers gorgeous views of the sea.
