Barton Springs Pool
The Barton Springs Pool is an outdoor swimming pool in Zilker Metropolitan Park in Austin. It’s a great pool for year-round swimming surrounded by greenery and trees, making you feel like you’ve escaped the city to the ol’ watering hole during a hot summer. The pool is only open from Friday until Wednesday when the floodgates are closed and the pool is at its deepest. The pool is free from November through March, and during the summer a few dollars are required for entry, but the pool is still free in the evenings. Go for a hike in the park and then a refreshing swim!
The Story of Texas
When you’re in Austin you have to discover the wild history of the Lone Star State. Check out the Bullock Texas State History Museum to learn about the land, identity, and opportunity found in Texas. The museum is just a few blocks away from the Texas State Capitol, one of the most beautiful state capitols. The rosy glow of the sunset-tinted granite is truly beautiful during the mornings and evenings.
